Privacy Policy

Summary

SOR (Site Observation Report) is a local-first app for capturing photo-led site observation reports. Everything you create is stored on your device first. If you choose to create an SOR account, your data is also synced to SOR Cloud so the same projects appear on your phone and laptop. We do not sell or share your data, and we use no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

What you create

Projects, reports, observations, captions, and photos you create are stored locally on your device using on-device storage (IndexedDB). You can use SOR fully offline without an account, in which case this data never leaves your device unless you export or share it yourself (for example, by saving or sending a PDF).

SOR accounts & cloud sync (optional)

If you create an SOR account, we store the information needed to run the account and keep your devices in sync:

• Account details — your email address, a securely hashed password, and an optional display name.
• Your workspace — the projects, reports, observations, and photos you choose to sync, stored so they can be delivered to your other signed-in devices.

Synced data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure and is associated only with your account. We use it solely to provide the sync service. You can use SOR without ever creating an account.

What we do not collect

• No usage analytics, behavioural tracking, or device fingerprinting.
• No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties.

Camera and photos

SOR uses your device camera and photo library only to let you attach images to observations. Photos are stored locally, and synced to your account only if you are signed in.

Email

If you create an account or use password recovery, we send transactional emails (such as account confirmation or a password-reset link). These are not marketing emails.

Deleting your data

You stay in control of your data:

• Delete individual reports and projects in the app at any time.
• Use the in-app "clear all local data" option to remove everything from the device.
• Delete your SOR account from in-app settings to remove your synced workspace from SOR Cloud.
• Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from that device.

Data retention

Account and synced data are retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, the associated workspace is removed from SOR Cloud.

Children

SOR is a professional tool intended for adult construction and site-management users. It is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
